SwipeSeal is an independent website published by Everlight Press. By using it you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
Information, not advice
The guides, tools and comparisons here explain PCI DSS in general terms for small merchants. They are not legal advice and not an assessment by a Qualified Security Assessor. The bank or payment provider that handles your card payments decides what you must submit to show compliance, so confirm your own requirements with them.
Independence
PCI DSS is maintained by the PCI Security Standards Council. SwipeSeal is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Council or by any card brand. Names of standards, products and companies belong to their owners and are used only to describe them.
Accuracy and dates
We read facts from primary sources and show when we read them. Standards, vendor products and vendor terms change, so check the source before you rely on a detail. If you find something out of date, tell us through the contact page.
Tools
Calculator results depend on what you enter and are a starting point, not a final answer. Check a result against the standard or with your payment provider before you act on it.
Links to other sites
We link to the Council, to vendors and to other sources so you can check them. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for what they publish.
